Breathing: Full and complete inhalation and exhalation is an important part of Pilates exercise. Proper breathing oxygenates the muscles and reduces the tension in the upper neck and shoulders.

Control: Pilates is excellent in building the idea of muscle control.

Concentration: Intense concentration is needed in Pilates.

Flow of movement: Movement should be continuous between exercises to build stamina and strength.

Exactness: Every little detail is followed in Pilates. The reason for this precision is to carry on with life with elegance and economy of movement.
